  • If there was anything my room was blessed with (besides me having awesome roomies), it would be the view of the sky.  I love just watching out my window--there's all sorts of weather out there, and I just love clouds.  I used to imagine bouncing in clouds, like Care-Bears or just flying around in general.

(n_n) [Not to mention there is a tennis court, and some people have really funny form!  Not that I play well, but I know how it should generally look.  Heh.  I was half-joking that my tennis-karma would be reaching untouchable levels since I've laughed at so many people from the safety of my room.  How pathetic, right? lolz.  Next time I even try playing, I'll probably get my lame-ass beaten up; then maybe someone else will be laughing at me .]

When the clouds looked like this (above), it reminded me of a few things:
    1) The sky in Kansas when I was leaving in 2003.  That was one of the best summers of my life thus far.
    2) How awesome it might be to paint something like this with a nice flat brush (the streaks of light).
    3) The Little Mermaid and the light rays in the water (which, by the way, was one of my favorite Disney movies, though now that I'm older I like the ideas behind Beauty & the Beast a lot more--& the dandelions in the opening scene!):

Sometimes watching sunsets reminds me of the Little Prince & how he would watch them when sad.  Then I either become reflective of the sad recent occurrences, or I become happy because I am crazy for colors and sunsets are spectacular like that.

It is too bad the tennis lights bleached out the colors in the one below:

I am actually content right now.

    (Brief study break O_~)

So when I was really young, one of my first piano teachers used to have these incentive charts that she would give us, and with each week of good practice, or good job with music theory, etc. we would earn a little sticker to put in one of the cells.  After filling a certain number of rows or sheets (I can't really remember), we would be able to exchange it for some music related goodies, whether they were little paper clips with music notes, or other oddities (i.e. miniature music dictionary/pamphlet).  It was really exciting for me as a kid!

So yesterday on my trip to Target with my roomie Christina & friend Miloni, I found this in the dollar section:

    IMG_0273

The incentive chart for piano lessons weren't as wide, but was longer (maybe a 5x5 chart).  But this made me really excited so I got some for myself.  (I know, lame! I am how old?)

Well, check out my current chart (parents will approve, though maybe only partially):

    IMG_0276

I probably shouldn't motivate myself with food, but you gotta do what you gotta do for a Klondike bar! ;) (just kiddin'! Sort of.)  I actually haven't hit up the gym yet this semester, so it's not like I can add any stickers yet.  Not to mention there are no Klondike bars in the fridge (no! I did not eat them already/prior to making chart!  Though maybe after next time I go to the groceries there will be...).

As a kid, I loved perspective.  I had this habit, during nap time, to stare at the corners of the wall/ceiling:
    IMG_0275

& try and see it as an extruding and intruding cube.  I liked playing tricks on my eyes and head.

I made a poster today.  Yay, orgo exam (Monday; all orgo kids are in a frenzy at the present; except those who are going to the football game--what the heck!?)
    IMG_0278
For some reason I've been getting a lot of "likes" for my Facebook status:

"Probably high off of Sharpie fumes, but is making a miniature/beautiful orgo poster! :) !"

Back to studies, after I eat :D !

  • Milestone

    :) I am True!

    [As of yesterday!]

I was actually really excited when I saw this a while ago:

    true

Occasionally I think really dorky things that I would be a little embarrassed to say aloud.  Well, (I felt silly applying to be True, but oh well -_-) I did type on of those thoughts out on my application.  I likened myself to a computer and Xanga as something in between a time capsule and an external harddrive to protect my memories.  It is true though.  (teehee)

A dorky thought that came to mind today--
I had been studying hard for my physiology and Latin exams that I had today (technically yesterday, now that it is 3 AM); in my physiology studies they were talking a little bit about how with substrates and enzymes there reaches a point where all the enzymes are saturated.  At that point the rate of the reactions can't really increase anymore (Vmax, I believe.)  Out of the blues I started thinking about how all my studying had reached that point of mental saturation where I could not absorb any more, and that more studying would no longer help.  Oops!

I have been on Xanga since 2003, though not so consistently with usernames.  I've settled in with this Xanga.  But actually this one started off as 'melinnn', but I changed the name to 'loves_mud' fairly recently.  But the account and person are the same :)

I had a friend who changed his name but couldn't change himself.

It is nice to reach milestones in our journeys through life.  It is nice to find constant companions along the way. It makes the path less weary.

    I hate mid-study munchies! :( Fortunately I don't like tomatoes.

  • Miniature break from my physiology lab write up!
Well, not really, but here is some commentary from it.

These are my reaction times (Reflex lab) for me pressing a buzzer when I see the transducer being tapped:
    1) at random intervals
    2) with a verbal warning ahead of time
    3) at regular intervals
    4) while performing (lolz) mathematics aloud (oh fail! But, hey, I've been told to always use calculators to avoid stupid mistakes.)
    5) without any visual cues, only listening for a tap

Number four shows why I do not text while driving.  And also why I do not do math while driving. Or ever? -_-

    & now back to physiology!

I just posted this Maxxforce TV widget for 500 credits. You can earn free credits too!

  • I spent my whole Friday evening updating the ARCUSF webpage.  I am actually almost done!  I spent hours and hours and hours, LITERALLY.  I spent maybe close to an hour doctoring this picture & a few others:

    IMG_0081 copy

It is actually a composite of these pictures, so that all the officers that attended would be in the picture:

I haz skills.  Photoshop.  & patience.

Yesterday, the ARCUSF e-board went line dancing.  It was my first time going out on a week night, and it was quite interesting.  I wish I were faster in learning things like dancing--I am very much gifted with two left feet (oh FAIL!).  So it was pretty awkward for me, and I guess most of the other officers.

Being a dumb-ass, I forgot my license so we had to go back to get mine; I didn't really think I would need it considering I couldn't and wouldn't be getting any alcohol.  But apparently I need proof that I am at least 18 to get into a bar.  It doesn't help that I look young for my age.  Other than that, the night seemed to have gone fairly smoothly.  The air was stale with cigarette smoke filling my lungs (sputter :( ).  The music was country, but the people dancing looked so fun!  Maybe someday I can learn to twirl around and jump and dance.  But I'm as stiff as cardboard, so I pretty much epic fail in any sort of dancing.

I am covering my face in shame/trying-to-dance here, but Ramzy insisted on getting pictures with me also in them:

    IMG_0075

On the second floor they changed the music to hip-hop music [sometime around 12, I'm guessing], which I am also not acquainted with.  It is kind of hard to sway to any rhythm when you don't recognize it to begin with--maybe I should start listening to music outside of alternative/indie/folk :( .  I am also not skilled or particularly fond of the dancing style that accompanied the change in music.  The other officers were patient and encouraging towards me.  I feel like this club has been helping me crawl out of the awkward shell that I had sort of developed without my noticing.  It has been helping me become slightly more outgoing.  It is also pretty impressive that we have such a large group of officers and so practically no drama (and most are girls too; I think more officers didn't come than did come; so the picture doesn't really show how many there are).

    IMG_0084 copy
Here's the gang minus Britt.  I was too tired to photoshop more.

I can't believe I am awake still!  I am running on 3 hours of sleep.  & I'm not tired!!!  (Just tired of being in front of the computer--I've been working non-stop since class let out at 3:oo!  Except for dinner of course :) ).

    SMILE, my friends!!
