Happy Chinese New year ,Melinda . I hope you had also a great Valentine ' s Day . You speak of the matters I studied and taught . It was in the years 50 and 60's . Biology included : zoology, ( all of the various species , morpholology, anatomy and biology ) , botanic ( the same : all of the species etc .... ) , physiology but not too much of Bio cell at this time . In geology it was the stratigraphy , paleontology and petrography ) . . It was rather encyclopedic and for the hard contest of Agregation you had to succeed written tests ( a dissertation very synthetic in the 3 matters ) then to succeed lab tests and at last oral test ( two lessons at secondary level and college level) . I got this contest in 1965. Then when I was a teacher and inspecteur the scientist knowledges are fast encreased and especially in the biology of the cell , genetic , nerves tissus , communication and enery. It is become more and more specialized and needs strong knowledges in chemistry , physic and even mathematics !! I wish you courage , Melinda but I know you have . In friendship Michel

How did you celebrate Chinese New Years? Do anything fun? (:
I watched a little of the All Star game (perfect Valentine's Day t.v. show hehe, except for me it was today--Monday) and I was rooting for the East to win...and they did, so yay! I usually want the West to win, but because Kobe wasn't playing due to injury I wanted Dwight Howard and LeBron James and Dwayne Wade to do well (: Did you get to watch? Also, the dunk contest wasn't too exciting . I was hoping there would be something similar like a Dwight Howard Superman dunk (amazing!!!) but nothing hehe. Oh well, I can't wait for regular games to resume .
I go back to work tomorrow (booo) but it's okay. I have to work on my workshop for Friday. I got a lot done today, so I'm happy (:. Plus, on Friday, my director baked brownies for everyone in the office and I brought in some chocolate for our staff meeting...lol...it was chocolate overload! I'm kind of chocolated out hehe.
Yeah, lol I've gotten better with construction paper art (I hope so haha) so you don't have to worry about a scary bunny coming out of your card (:

@cal_islander - Yeah, I had a fabulous Valentine's/NY consisting of a GIANT feast with my roomie and a good friend of ours; we pretty much stuffed ourselves all day; we also watched some basketball and just hungout and kept eating...maybe the source of my recent weight gain? FML. lol. I didn't get to see the dunk contest though; I've never actually watched; but there are a buncha awesome dunk compilation videos on Youtube. Yay!
I think I'm slightly in a chocolate overload phase right now too. Ahhh!! Tooo much! And EVERYWHERE! (Another source of weight gain...high availability of candy..ahh!!!)
And about being stuck on the island, at least you're stranded in a beautiful place; unlike Tampa, which looks pretty unwholesome. :
@Meowmeowkimmaee - (: thanks! It's so hard to write with mouses or touch pads! My normal chinese-handwriting isn't fantastic but it's a little more legible than that :] (whew!)
@jakeperry - haha, that's awesome/clever! Since it's the year of the tiger, I think tigers can pounce on chocolate, so this year maybe Chinese new years trumps Valentine's? (:?
but then the chocolate makes the tiger get fat so who really wins at the end of the day? =P
