  • The ocean calls...

So for Spring break if all works out as planned I am signed up to help for Alternative Spring Break at Biscayne National Park! (:!  I also wanted to do one they will be having in Atlanta where they build things and paint things for the elderly folks.  But I decided on the Biscayne one instead since it seemed more unique (as in the one in ATL is probably something similar to what they might offer again next year, so I won't be missing my chance).  Sometimes it is sad that we only have one life to live (or so it seems, I don't really know).  But I'm really excited!!!  lol, there was also a dolphin on their display poster; and the BNP website says there are also manatees there sometimes! (:  What, and maybe flying squirrels?  (:!

But now I need to go study...I just needed to get some of the excitement out of my system (:!

Wish the mtg was more efficient, I'll explain later, maybe tomorrow.

(: I'll try! (: Another option was in the Everglades, but 1) I've been there before 2) I'm scared of alligators! :O!

  • Just when I got used to you being a stick figure, you became a white spot head.

  • your name is melinda! =D

that's really cool, what you're doing. i wanted to do something with habitat for humanity, but i'd have to travel very far away for the entire summer, so i want to do something in NY. flying squirrels! i saw a youtube video of one with a Radiohead song playing in the background and i suddenly wanted one. but they excrete alot, i heard. so maybe not.

  • Sooo this has nothing to do with your post but.....I realized you changed your background to....rene magritte? SWEETNESSS :D

and yayyyy for alternative spring break!

  • @shortstuff3157 -

Yep yep! I was actually going to make a background off of one of his a few years ago, but I think I forgot to use the image I created in the end. So I made a new one today incorporating even more of his art! :O! Yippie!

If time permits, we should try doing it next school year together! If you aren't planning on other adventures elsewhere! Heard it was super fun...(:

  • @phantomFive -

(:! lol. I might try to switch it up more, but I might keep this a while to match my over all theme :3!

Hahaha, you haven't changed yours at all since we've been friends here on Xanga! But yours is pretty cool, you look like you are in deep thought! (Do you remember when that picture was taken, btw?)

  • @nyclegodesi24 -

yes, and I still haven't learned yours yet! ?? (:!

I suppose there's always more time later (:, HfH always sounded really cool. I love working with my hands, though I wouldn't want to build for my whole life (seems like it'd be a win-win-win situation since you'd get to volunteer, build, and not be obligated to do it as a living). I bet there's a lot that you could do there in NY! One of the options was in NYC actually ("Meals on Heals"--preparing and delivering food to people who have trouble accessing help) (:. I actually think working in soup kitchens is really fun, if you haven't tried that before. Except when some of the people hit on you...then it is awkward. O_o

  • @nyclegodesi24 -

I would never have connected Radiohead to Flying squirrels! :O! Haha, that's awesome though! (Now I'm totally in the mood for Radiohead, lol).

A lot of little animals excrete a lot. O_o And some little animals engage in coprophagy O_o...(like rabbits). Chinchillas are super cute too! Though it would be awesome to be able to glide in the air n_n!

  • @phosphor_stars -

yeah, it's about three years old. I like it for the same reason.

  • http://phantomfive.xanga.com/707558124/epic-death-valley-trip/ that is my most recent picture but you can't see much......and also I think I look much better now than I did than because I have more muscles now ha.
http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=2049976&l=369189aa17&id=500286688 that is one I like too, but I also think I look better because I have better posture now and have lost weight.

  • @phantomFive -

that reminds me of http://momolikeschoco.xanga.com/716003220/cheeeeeeese/ haha (:

lol, that's good that you're gaining muscle. Mine are atrophy-ing like crazy. Luckily this year I haven't been gaining a study gut like I did last year (yeah! Study gut over beer belly, FTW!).

  • lol, yeah, that's it

  • yeahh, it is really cool for the fact that you can do it a few times in a year and you don't have to have a particularly great expertise in order to work on a housee. yeahh, i thought it was called Meals on Wheels lol, but Meals on Heal sounds good, too. oh, and i probably won't have a problem with people hitting on me. once, at a nursing home, an elderly woman was flirting with me and i felt so happy. it was the first time anyone had done that in three years.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JMP7N7Z7jig i love that song by them... and i did not know what coprogaphy meant. so i googled it. under images. =X

  • @nyclegodesi24 -

Haha, yeah there is Meals on Wheels; the thing the people from my school will be doing will be delivered on foot though, so I think they were just trying to be clever by calling it on Heels ;) . lol, aww, you're kidding right? You seem like a pretty cool chap, maybe you're just intimidating somehow! That's what a guy told me in HS when I asked why no one for a long time would approach me :[. But I don't see how people could be intimidated by a little person like me, lol ;) .

Oh man, that is so cute! I love that song too! Though I think my current favorite by them is No Surprises. (:
