"Life seems less risky when you're not overthinking everything. If
you're content with where you are, a couple misteps aren't going to
fuck everything up. You're only going to regret the opportunities that
you didn't take." -ChinkzillaMaybe that is what I am doing wrong. I need to learn to be happy with myself and lighten up. I am silly and occasionally humorous, but I am awkward, so I generally present myself as a quiet and grave person. And that's the only side of me most people see. I am loyal and committed to friends, but a workaholic perfectionist who consequently spends little time with friends and much time with/on dormwork. I need to spend more time with friends and stop being a dorm hermit. Then perhaps life will seem better and I'll stop focusing on the good of the past (and mourn the present), and start focusing on the good of today.

I'm a dorm hermit too.
You are wise Melinda to decide to enter more the life in a just balance betwween work and leisure .
I understand what you describe . I was a little like you being young and even later . You are right to react.
