  • Hello! I'm in Greece right now!

We arrived yesterday, maybe around 3:00 p.m. in Greece.  We had travelled for hours (way too long!).  At the airport, we were picked up and taken to visit the Temple of Poseidon.  The Temple was gorgeous--it amazes me to see the columns still standing even today.

Today, we visited the Epigraphical Museum and the National Archaeological Museum.  Both were very impressive.  I just don't understand how the art created in the ancient days (B.C.) could have survived to today--I wonder how much was made then, and what people will find 1000 years from now...If people do, indeed, survive that long.

We also visited the Acropolis (which included a huge ampitheater, the Parthenon, and such).

I will post pictures when I get home, I promise!! =)

(I have a more detailed account on my blogger, so if you want to read that [-chokes-, doubts anyone would], ask me! =)

  • Maybe your ceramics will become priceless artifacts 1000 years from now :P

Haha n_n; I always wondered what will be passed on as heirlooms, and what things will just be forgotten or viewed as 'junk' years from now. I'm pretty attached to the things I put a lot into. So maybe that is why I still have school papers from eons ago (my other excuse is that there is some stuff we covered in class ages ago but haven't covered again; so it's always nice to have a little text here or there, maybe one trophism in plants or something; random tidbits. I'm a packrat -_-).

I always thought it'd be fun to plant a time capsule somewhere. One of the big questions is where though. Somewhere that won't be disturbed, but won't be forgotten. :O

If found 1000 years from now people would probably still be confused by the bird...maybe by then it won't have a beak at all; maybe it's head will be lost, or its tail will break off. :O
